Day 1: May 16, 2014 Left home at 4:30am. No traffic in Aguinaldo Highway. Resorts World, Newport Blvd, in the Entrance closet to the SLEX - terminal lounge. Arrived at 5:30am. I was able to go out and eat at the McDonalds across the street while waiting. We left at 6:30 via Skyway, then went down in EDSA. Traffic was light. The shuttle then stopped by Tri Nooma to pick up more passengers of Qatar Airlines there. We left at 7:15am from Trinoma. Arrived in Clark at 8:40am. Went through check-in quickly and waited for about 3+ hours. The flight took off at around 12noon and was around 9 hours long. last year, flying from Manila to Johannesburg, we travelled 18 hours in the darkness... I entitled that blog entry as "Chasing the Sun", which explains why I entitled this entry as such. A pretty uneventful journey to Doha, Qatar, which had me watching the Hunger Games 1 & 2. Frankly speaking, i wish I had stopped at 1, coz #2 just left me sooooo "bitin"! (those who watched this already must be laughing at this comment) Aside from those movies, I slept for about 2 hours. I guess I'm not going to be suffering much from jetlag later coz my body will have adjusted already (keeping fingers crossed). Oh, and though when we land in Doha, it will be 4pm in the afternoon with the Sun shining brightly, the time back home is already 8:25pm (after vespers). So now I will try my best to be "in the zone" and spend the extended Sabbath hours (sunset in Moscow is apparently at 10:30pm) in dedicated time with the Creator. ------ Arrived in Doha International Airport--- 8:55pm (phils) 3:55pm (doha) Brown. Sand. How can anything grow? Well, this is where you can see just what money can do to make a huge oasis in the middle of the desert. Now settling in for the 15 hour layover (plus charging the gadgets) in Sabbath mode. And thus, Day 1 ends, with me in the Doha International Airport. I may be alone, but hey, I'm in touch with all of you, am I not? ;) | |
